Adam Miller, LMFT

About Adam

Adam is a PA Licensed Social Worker since 2010, who has worked in behavioral healthcare since 2010. Over the years he has provided therapy across many settings, including community-based, day hospital/IOP, inpatient, and outpatient clinics.

His approach to psychotherapy is respectful and collaborative, trauma-informed, and solution-focused. He uses strategies from Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and person-centered approaches to promote growth and positive change. When working with couples, his approach is informed by the evidence-based Gottman Method and focuses on identifying and disrupting the damaging cycles that can surface in intimate relationships.

Adam enjoys work with LGBTQ+ clients, including those with complicated relationships to faith and spirituality, and he is committed to anti-racism in personal and clinical practice.

I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to practice as part of the clinical team here at Providence Behavioral Health. I consider it a privilege and an honor to join with clients across the lifespan to confront the concerns that are preventing you from living the life you desire.

In treatment I strive to use a holistic approach that balances your emotional, social, mental, physical, spiritual, and relational well-being. In my self-conception, my role as a therapist consists of two basic tasks: 1) Listening to your story with compassion and respect; and 2) Helping you to find a better path forward – whatever that may look like for you.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time outdoors, which includes running, hiking, biking, and kayaking. I also enjoy reading both fiction and non-fiction, playing board games, contributing to my church in various ways, and spending quality time with my wife and two daughters.
